New addition to the Yogurt Top family – coming soon!

Written by YogurtTop

You may think we have a new member of staff joining us, but for those who don’t know – I’m having a baby!

I won’t bore you with the details, and let’s face it, we all know how it happened

I first found out in March, it’s quite a blur now I must admit, but what I do remember is the sheer anxiety I felt about revealing my news to my family. It was not because I felt ashamed, or because I felt too young, because as a 25 year old who has been with their partner for over 3 years, I feel that is a good age and we’re both in a great place. I felt more worried about reactions.

Of course, I wanted my family to be happy. Deep down I knew they’d be over the moon, but I think everyone goes through those mixed emotions during that time, whether you’re in your 30’s or already have more than one child. Needless to say, everyone was super excited, myself on the other hand started to panic slightly – “I’m going to be a Mum, I’m going to be responsible for this human for the rest of my life”

Looking back now at 16 weeks (a whole 4 months) I think those are pretty normal emotions, I mean Jesus Christ, these pregnancy hormones have you up and down, and don’t even get me started on ‘all day, at any time sickness…’

I’m at a point where I feel content. I have dealt with what felt like the worst part – throwing up and feeling sick constantly for the first 3 months and I’m now more excited, yet still nervous.
We’re looking at booking a scan to find out the gender and couldn’t be more excited, I get to start shopping properly! Have we any baby names yet you may ask? Well let’s just say, that has turned into our own personal game show – Ollie:  “what about Jacob?” Me: “Twilight!” “What about Miles?” “No, there was a lad at school called Miles who I couldn’t stand”

So yes, as you can imagine we’re getting nowhere at the moment. So if you have any suggestions, throw them my way…PLEASE!

I’ve waffled on too much but for those who are interested, I’ll keep you up to date with my journey as I still have a long way to go. What I would like to say is how much I admire the strength of all the Mums & Mum-to-be’s out there. You’re all amazing!
